however, if I were to send a request to GIO, it would be for yourself, Norrie.
29 sleeps to go and already I'm jumping back 3 feet if one of the schoolchildren sneezes in my direction. Every so often I take out my ticket and look at it in wonder. I photographed it and sent the pic to my son, who bought my first Tom Petty CD for me. I've been on the virtual tour of the Royal Albert Hall.
What can I say?
Running Down a Dream - Ton Petty & the Heartbreakers
I missed out on Sade. My ex got me tickets fir my birthday and then fell out with me about something fairly trivial no doubt, and wouldnt tell me where the tickets were.
Was working away when tickets went on sale and was unable to check my personal e-mail, which yes would have flagged when they were available. Now I had been banging on to a couple of my pals about JB and yep you guessed it they were there, I now get reminded of how great a show it was, the setlist, the acoustics in the Usher Hall, etc. every Saturday lunchtime in my local.
I did come away strangely unmoved - I've absolutely no idea why. Couldn't fault his playing or anything really, yet John Mayall in November had me buzzing for days - though possibly sitting 2 feet from the amps did that.
Maybe it's because Joe was a child prodigy and followed a gilded path.
John Mayall never really made it, saw some of his apprentices become superstars and still has to drag his tired old body around to make a couple of bob.
Here gaie broon - this is a good theme for you is it not?
ReplyDeleteIf it's gigs I didn't get to, I really, really, really hope not!!

Which one has the blues?
I was at the Focus gig in the Kelvin Hall Arena circa 71? - I can remember it quite clearly, Jan Akkerman was superb.
DeleteI could have done without the yodeling, though.

When I saw he him he was ploughing his own furrow at The Ferry, a bit like John Mayall. I've seen a few gifted guitarists but he sticks in my mind.
