It's an obsession with celebrity... Producers aren't presenters, neither are they gourmet chefs & that bloomin laugh. Who in their right mind thinks that having a loud laugh somehow ingratiates themselves to others.
You dont want me over there MM. You wouldn't like me over there. As to Billy and Glen getting personal messages - its a classic case of divide and rule. They've already got Norrie and Julie, Billy too now probably, but to get Glen would be like Farage walking over the Glienicke Bridge to join the Labour party.
Arthur’s Theme (The Best That You Can Do) – Christopher Cross I Guess The Lord Must Be In New York City – Nilsson The Only Living Boy In New York – Simon & Garfunkel From New York To LA – Patsy Gallant New York Minute – Don Henley Moving To New York – The Wombats Leaving New York – R.E.M. Native New Yorker – Odyssey New York Groove – Hello New Amsterdam – Elvis Costello The Apple Stretching – Grace Jones Empire State of Mind – Jay-Z New York – Paloma Faith New York New York – Ryan Adams A Night In New York – Elbow Bones & The Racketeers I Am I Said – Neil Diamond (I'm New York City born and raised) New York City – They Might Be Giants Across 110th Street – Bobby Womack An Open Letter To NYC – The Beastie Boys Statue of Liberty - XTC
I was being ironic Billy. Anyway, "New York" must be giving "Space" a run for its money on the most times as a theme chart. So much so you're not going to get a full point for each correct predo. The European Golden Shoe rules apply here, where we give a weighting according to the easiness of the theme. In the case of "New York" its half a mark each.

a truly great concert leaves you buzzing for days, weeks even, but then how to follow? I'm at that now - Robert Plant was right up there for me, not just the band, but the warmth and love within the audience. 3 gigs later and they were all good. But...
One or two contributors giving more information than required.

Truly awful. It's a sad day when Son of my Father and Billy Don't Be A Hero are the standout tracks...
DeleteNo Mozz - the Git will be distraught...
DeleteCmon Billy, whats wrong with 13, 14, 16 and 20 as well on Disc 1?
DeleteOK, Disc 2 is a struggle...
Do you really want an answer?
DeleteSuppose not...
DeleteQuite good value, though, 40 tracks.
DeleteI'll drink to that.
Delete....cliff's complaint about being 65% down on airplay seems to have struck a chord at GIO....
ReplyDeletecheers frae the dale
....and while i'm on the subject, how come some people around here get a personal note from BB...on f/b of all places ...thats heavy embarrassing....
ReplyDeletecheers frae the dale
Some even have the Gruppenführer as a friend.
DeleteThey can't shut Facebook down.
DeleteIt's an obsession with celebrity... Producers aren't presenters, neither are they gourmet chefs & that bloomin laugh. Who in their right mind thinks that having a loud laugh somehow ingratiates themselves to others.
DeleteNope, all surplus to requirements.
I nominate AfR to get a bloody Farcebook account & takeover for a while, he's got a way with words.
DeleteNo comment in case it's tidied by the blogmeister (;-)

Exactly Adam, get yersel onto Farcebook please.
DeletePretty please?
DeleteI answered you above...
DeleteDon't play hard to get.
DeleteThat weighing seems s bit harsh...
Delete...though probably academic as after two for two it's gone s bit Pete Tong 😠
Delete* a bit
DeleteNorrie, New York Telephone Company
ReplyDeleteSorry MM not getting that one. Conversation?
DeleteBell Records = Showaddywaddy
DeleteSuggestions Norrie nothing more.

ReplyDeleteLong Distance Love - Little Feat
..they don't do irony fo sho...
ReplyDeletecheers frae the dale
Punch Brothers breathtaking tonight. Siobhan Miller (with James Grant) also very good.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff Glen glad you enjoyed it. I was at the Another Country broadcast and it was utterly superb.
DeleteIf this "bring an' tell", Shooglenifty 25 plus Oiléain and Dhol Drummers!
DeleteNo celebrity credits required.
Fairport Convention and Roaming Roots Revue. Particularly liked Colin McLeod and Rachel Sermanni together.
DeleteJD McPherson rocked the ABC tonight but I think the sheer musicianship of Chris Thile's Punch Brothers has become my yardstick for live performance.
Deletea truly great concert leaves you buzzing for days, weeks even, but then how to follow? I'm at that now - Robert Plant was right up there for me, not just the band, but the warmth and love within the audience. 3 gigs later and they were all good. But...

DeleteDon't just take my word.

Honestly never heard of them but I am now going to get some of their cd's - some reviewe.
DeleteDoes Rye Whiskey make GIO sound better, Glen?
DeleteGood to see my Underground getting a shout on FB on Friday.
ReplyDeleteThat's Demis Roussos gone. Perhaps we'll be able to see the sun again.
ReplyDeleteAnother s. ad day - where is Henri when we need him in these dark hours..
DeleteNorrie.
Get him on tonight.
DeleteHe mentions Rainbow in "Forever and Ever"
(Demis that is, not Henri)
Julie could organise it...
DeleteOops. Sorry Glen. Just seen your post on the other side.
DeleteFeel a bit like a Gino Satti but honestly I posted before I looked!
Great minds. Are you that familiar with his lyrics? I had to look it up.
