pleased to hear that, Norrie, I saw some photos of the Rod Stewart gig and it looked horribly sterile and atmosphere-less. I've never been to an arena apart from the dire SECC - once and never to be repeated, but inevitably there are one or two bands that might go the The Hydro that I'd not see otherwise, so am happy it's decent. Son went to see Leonard Cohen at the O2, London - he wasn't a fan before and he's still not, but went on an invite and though he captioned his photo as being taken at a quidditch match - that's how far up they were, he really liked it.
Now now Norrie...The Daughter's just signed up for the Uni Ladies' football team and she's 'buzzing' at the thought of playing football again...she'll be raging that you agree with the that awful Cowan chap. Jx
I thought Kaye Adams did a really impressive job - it must be difficult to keep a grip on the diversity of opinion and be on top of a changing subject every day. Quite a feet.
For me, Off The Ball has run its course and sounds as bankrupt as the leagues it reports on.
Oh, I can't stand Kaye Adams, I listened a bit when I was between jobs and had to give up she annoyed me so much. There was one porgramme about use of correct grammar in which she continually spoke about 'talking posh' as if precise use of language were somehow to be despised in an inverted snobbery kind of way.
And anyway I don't see what her feet have got to do with anything, but maybe Mr Git would understand?.
You don't understand how good kaye is until you hear Kirsty Wark attempting to do the same thing. Pedestrian by comparison. Rocky Racoon was quite good at it but they want wimmin folk really to get the wimmin quotient up. It is for this reason Cowan might not get back. Good article in the Telegraph about it.
I tuned in out of curiosity to OTB a few weeks back and was appalled at the lack of professionalism - the discussion between the presenters and guests often plunged into verbal mayhem with everybody talking at the same time......I'm sure the resident intellectual Cosgrove would be equally appalled if he stood back and listened to the programme again....however I once saw him in the departure lounge at Glasgow airport carrying a bottle of Irn-Bru so maybe I have too high expectations....he is taller than I had imagined too. T.Cowan is a disgrace to journalism but not if he wrote for the Daily Mail.
Used to listen regularly to OTB. Heard it more recently and thought Stuart Cosgrove sounded embarrassed by wee Tam. Bryan B is a lot shorter than I'd imagined.

And as for people who don't speak clearly (a weather girl in particular ), or speak too fast - Zoe Ball for instance - she's nearly had my radio flung through the window she annoys me so much.
I didn't think it was possible, but they've got someone to produce an even more extraordinary vocal on the 'Outdoor Activities Forecast' - when it comes on we all try and impersonate - "Ssscotlaaand" "Hiiilaaands" it's hilarious. Although I think this is deliberate reverse cultural imperialism, it is also now the highlight of the show.
I have nothing to contribute to tonight's show - is this a show of solidarity with our faither? I've no idea what the Athletics thingy is, but I won't be contributing.
P.S. Mishka Ben-David is getting good reviews. He has written five books about Mossad, (he used to work for them), the first of which, Duet in Beirut, is being released soon in English.

Why, even the programme itself promotes sexist comment on air, endorsed but not publicly apologetic.
For sure we all have to abide by a code of conduct, maybe the programme should remember that itself.
