Well, that is 7 of the 12 Days sorted!
THIS is what you can get me.
Send us a wee recording of you playing first and we'll see you if you're worth it.
I see you've got yourself a new chum Glen. A Lady Mac to go with your Mad Metrosexual ane.
I'm playing it cool. Terrible news about Dave Lee Travis.
What has happened to him?
He dropped the soap.
NEXT WEEK'S REPEAT THEMES!
Time for some repeated requests then...
If you're tiptoeing around here, DC, Rab Noakes was in grand form in Greenock Beacon on Saturday. Glad he's returned to health with no damage to his voice.
Will Elvis in the Chippy get another airing tonight then?Surprised you havent gone for "When an Old Cricketer Leaves the Crease (with his box askew and whites soiled)", Julie. Used to be one your shouts.
Not after the slagging it got when it did get played. Jx
Kirsty kicked off last night. Will be disappointed if Telly doesn't do the same tonight.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J94-_w9ARX0Who luvs ya baby!
Oh see, I'm so used to 'kicked off' meaning a kid's been throwing chairs around the classroom I thought you meant there had been a rammy in the GIO studio. High time someone shook them up a bit.

NEWSFLASH!Bonnie Raitt playing at GRCH on Sunday, May 29th. 2016Tickets on sale NOW!!!
Actually, after a futile wait in a very slow queue at GRCH, I was informed that the tickets go on sale tomorrow. I informed the informer that one of her fellow issuer of tickets had informed me otherwise, but to no avail.P.S. I thought DC was Lord Pittenweem.
Eeee dont say that! He's fae East Anster and he's the only Dyker in the village!
Aye?Onyway, Menzies Campbell has appropriated the title.Re: Bonnie Raitt:- The ticket wummen at GRCH now tell me the tickets will go on sale next Thursday. I'll believe it when I see it...
It's a Raitt snorl.
Well spotted on the Elton John / Hellecasters link, Glen.
Elton has enough on his plate with his wooing of Putin.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAOLO!
Happy birthday Paolo. Hope you have had a great day
So how was U2, Norrie?
Scotch - Whats the musical answer to this then?"Where are you all coming from?":)

Maybe EZ's favourite band. Not mine...
Ah'll East Anster ye.....Just back fae the hospital, big toe nail removed this morning. On the plus side, I get a day aff work to put my feet up and look at this blog.
Did you pay the extra for the anaesthetic?
23 posts on the other side and its half past four! Struggling.Who said they don't need another hero??
Major storm here. People may be battening down the hatches.
That's Alf away then. Not sure what BBC will be able to show as a tribute.
We could ask Bryan to play Randy Scouse Git
Aw Billy!Paper Lace! Surely!
No way Adam. Some other William has requested it though...
You're not getting much work done today by the looks of it.
My boss is on holiday which allows me a bit of latitude...
Sudden return of boss?
Just posted in the wrong place...
Cheery theme tonight.
Heaven knows I'm miserable now...
not half as much as me... Blue Deacon once again.
An interactive show tonight. Might be interesting.
Then again probably not...
What did you say?
Next week's themes. (with apologies to Scotch Git)
On any other show the best of America would make a great programme.
Let's see how many Canadians we can sneak by the producer. >8-D
It says songs about America.A chance for Pussycat to get on, maybe.
I think they must have changed it. Several days left for further goalpost mobility. Keep your powder dry.
I see Henri has just waltzed back in after all this time with not so much as a by your leave!
I noticed that too.
Nae Kinks, nae Everlys and nae Lieutenant Pigeon. What is the ither side coming to, Billy?(I'm asking you coz you're clearly the boss over there)
Don't worry they'll be on though not so sure about Lieutenant Pigeon. Also not sure about being the boss. Wouldn't want to step on Mad Mac's toes.
Ouch! FFS what size of shoes do you wear?
So it is "about America".Predictable opener Billy! Can you put my Paper Lace and Pussycat shouts in?:)
Pussycat shout posted Adam!
Big In America?
I see someone asked for Atlantic Avenue by AWB.Didnt know Rio had been taken over by Uncle Sam.
I didn't know so many hereabouts celebrate their Thanksgiving! You're all party to Babs world domination plan.
Let's see if they celebrate St. Andrew's day?
Mac yes they are...
Blue DeaconThe Twins That Shall Not Be NamedShuggy and ShoutShould be an ace show!
List comin on Billy?Give you something to do on a Friday when there's nothing else on the other side.:)

Schedule... can't be arsed!
More likely to be Annie on her ane. Nae doot you'll be putting in a shout for Mr Byrne.
You know me so well.
You've over looked some of my favourites.. Rezillos aka Revillos, Cuban Heels, Shakin' Pyramids, Skids, Associates, SAHB, Midge Ure, Gerry Rafferty, Lulu, Marmalade, Jack Bruce, Lena Zavaroni & Andy Stewart.
Not forgetting Admiral Fallow, Idlewild, Jimmy Somerville, the band of the Gordon Highlanders and Francie & Josie
forgot the Cocteau Twins
It's Wet, Wet, Wet this morning. Betcha it's dry in Nazareth never mind their homage to the Big Country. Sad when the Humblebums and Average White Band are second best to those in the colonies tuning in digitally.
Aye, anither nicht of Scottish bands we're told we should love just 'coz they're Scottish.A week of Uncle Vic? I think not...
MM I think if you look closer you'll find that Associates and Admiral Fallow are on my list...Might need more work on the prediction though.
I don't even have Saint Andrew on it FFS.
FFS are half Scottish. >8-D
Very good SG.
William.. it was a rant, accuracy is secondary!Yes.. Scotch, accurate, sardonic turn of phrase. I really do miss the blog banter.
So do they BTW, that's the reason for ever increasing incidence of weak themes.
What's wrong with Uncle Vic? I used to think he played better tunes than BB. And I'm happy with Scottish bands as a theme. I'm going to give it a go and if Billy's predictions are correct then I'll admit I was wrong (yet again). Can't go on listening to he Archers anyhow, it's become completely ridiculous. Just been listening to (Scottish) band called River 68s. What a superb voice their singer has. Touch of the Frankie Millers, though with a better range maybe. I'll post a link so youse can all hear it too.
Sound good Gaie.
so that'll be a goal then
Nice one and on the volley too;-)Aye 'wee vic' has eventually succumbed to the blandness that is Radio Scotland's drive time. BTW what did you make of the Mr & Mrs video for Wednesday... he's attempting to get into acting & her into radio.
Today's pointless answers...Whatever's Written In Your Heart -Gerry RaffertyBoxes - Roddy HartIf Ever There Is Gladness - The Hazey Janes The Shape Of Things To Come – The HeadboysMessiah - PridesTop of the Pops - The RezillosFaith Healer - SAHBI Could Give You All That You Don’t Want – The Twilight SadFree - Twin AtlanticGet It Wrong – The Winter Tradition
Glen, how about“Thurs a Lawd Wurks Doon The Chippy Thenks He’s Andy Stewart”
Thought you'd be at the Caledonian Society dinner.
St Andrews Society here. But not so active these days.
Bear in mind we may need an ambassador at some point.
This week - Uncle VicNext week - Ross MacFadyen followed by Clare Grogan. (Spot the deliberate mistake). Are the slaves to the Dark Side privy to this?
An extra i in Ms Grogan's name. What's a privy got to do with it?
I am not at liberty to say.It's a secret.......or a cludgie.Glen'll know.
It's matinee idol Ross Macfadyen first.
Put a Tull request to Wee Vic for tonight's show... guess what happened?Did try Scotch 8-(
Why, thank you, kind sir!Mary Gauthier requested for ramorra. Bryan might've played it. Depends on the producer, I guess.Keep it Country!
What about this lot for the Blog Xmas party?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8TLY1j6ZgsYour sort of thing Mac, is it no?
The blonde girl is his friend. Today everything is love because it's her birthday, ride a good motorcycle, They gave her clothes, They gave you good things, and will ride her motorcycle all around the capital, because she has a good motorcycle, I see (on her) a good motorcycle, she has a good motorcycle, I see (on her) a good motorcycle...
Chris Spedding rip off then? Or is it a merengue Jasper Carrot?
TUESDAY - Beatles covers. As Glen has pointed out already, this could mean more than one thing. We should be telt!
Awdam, yer right, it's a cakeDC
Nah more a Senor Coconut man me'sel
Q.1Do you reside in the Kingdom? If you do; Q.2Do you intend to drive to Edinburgh during the month of December? If you do, think again!
Get yersel a wee boat for a month. River taxi-ing could be very lucrative.
A big boat (river bus?) might be more so!I'll wait until the wind calms doon.
No shair why emdy actually wants to leave the Kingdom onywey.....apart fae me, pickin up number two son fae Glezgy airyport tomorrow night. Think I'll go via the Tay BrigDC
Is there any good new Christmas albums this year? I heard Emily Smith on Janis Forsyth on Monday an she seemed OK, but nothin other than that. C'way MZ Broon, you usually hae some good recsToo breezy fur ferries the morn by the weyDC
Now Thats What I Call Xmas is still hard to beat DC. Pogues, Bing, Greg Lake, the boy Lewie, Slade - they're all on there.
Just added Iain Morrison to my Christmas wish list but not overwhelmed with ideas for others. I'm following Alan Morrison's top 50 list on Twitter, but I haven't really listened to any of them properly apart from Pale Fire, which was out early this year and hasn't been off my ipod since. Rachel Sermanni's Tied to the Moon is good too. Not thrilled with Django Django's second album. Saw them at The Quay Sessions, thanks to Frank, who could use his tickets owing to painting for the Turner Prize. Thought they were very good live and got the album on the strength of that. Disappointment. I like Idlewild's Everything Ever Written.
I'll tell you who I cannae go at all, since you didn't ask, and that's that Kathryn Joseph.
I didn't take to her at all till I heard her live...twice. ..and chatted to her. Interesting. ..Kate Bush -ish..i like her now. Don't like her dress sense...reminds me of the frumpy stuff we wore in the eighties. Jx
speak for yourself; me, I was wearing multi-coloured striped leggings and a purple mohair jumper. If FB had been invented I could show you ;-) and thank God it wasn't.
Don't be too self effacing Gaie.. fashion has a habit of going full circle.
I wis meaning more of the Christmas Album thingy. I'm seek o hearing the same thing year in year out and like to get something different every yearChristmas songs like you mention are banned in oor hoose Awdam. Ye get enough o that in the shoppin centres........
A new album from Kinky arrived in the mail, just in time for Chanukah!Glen might be interested in this cover version...
Kinky meets Warren. No airplay guaranteed.
A bit of confusion with the theme I see.I blame it on Billy
Thanks I was just going to request Pussycat for you but I won't now...
Well, you just go rushing in there in the morning with your list like a rabid McCafferty and dont think it through properly. Then everybody comes in afterwards following your lead. :)And a bit of constructive criticism should never get in the way of requesting Pussycat for a chum.
Nobody followed my lead as I initially chose songs that never stood any chance of being played. The list was whittled down as I thought of other less pointless requests.
Was tempted as I choked on my sandwich yesterday... I know Big Eck thinks Norway is a model state but there's approximately 61k at Parkhead who'd disagree ;-0 Had to resist the best Bond Track ever because I play within the rules 'Living Daylights"
The show where they can't even set a theme.
Aw Billy! 15 shouts in and no sign of you. You're no in the huff ur ye?
There you are! Though I dont think you're going to beat Glen for posts today.I like Julie's suggestion. Daffy Duck doing Yesterday is great.
The Jam!Taxman!Struth what's become of him?
No in the huff Adam apart from with my boss for arranging a meeting first thing this morning.
How many did u get on last night then Glen? That was quite an effort.
None, zilch, zero, bogey roll.
Hey Mac! If your dishing out the requests, I'll have"Sunday Morning" The Boshoi.
Aye, ballet good! Arr Clerr (Cilla Black accent) will play a lorra lorra essential music chosen by listeners!Theme? Oh, just ask for wharever you wanna hear, Chuck!
How did Claire do tonight?
See for yourselfhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=66zVGG2uPG0
Having a Billy in Alloa kind of day the day..Here's one for Norrie and DC.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eax5EfFbZGw
I caught up with tons of work today!
Next Week's Themes Oh, no it isn't!
Have we had pantomime themed songs before?
Oh, yes we have!I shall be requesting Jethro Tull and/or Kate Bush......again.
He's behind you...
I recall Derek Lord playing the baddie at the Pavilion Theatre. He responded to the kids' booing and hissing thus - "I hate children! I especially hate Scottish children!! Sitting there, with your ginger hair and freckles!!!"If he tried that now, he'd be arrested.
He forgot the rickets.
Claire?.total pishcheers frae the dale
Thanks for the constructive criticism...
Billy did you see Man of Moon at that festival thingy you were at? I thought they were excellent last night supporting The Twilight Sad. Was a brilliant gig altogether though certainly the loudest and strobe-iest I've ever been to.
Yes I did. They were very good indeed. Glad you enjoyed them and The Twilight Sad last night.
You've clearly been giving this theme a bit of thought Glen!Does that Scottish bloke who used to make his living doing Frank Spencer imitations before Panto took over paying his bills, still do it?
Yes he does.
Whats his name?
A pal of mine was in a band that used to back him when he was a singer.
Thats him! This appears to be this year's effort;http://www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com/what-s-on/theatre/first-look-snow-white-the-7-dwarfs-at-the-king-s-theatre-1-3964413
Happy birthday Norman!
28 posts at 4 o clock!Theme is struggling. As it always does.Need to get Roxy John on the phone. Or DC with his Chrissie Hynde story.
Tonight's programme is not just about the kids, young people, youth call them what you will. Its by them, its for them. Its their input (along with Billy the Kid from Alloa's) thats going to make the show.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Td58HHfl1Rk
Regretting sending Bing Crosby fan Sarah Snuff this link.
Ach. She probably just tutted and put it down to a brief regression to your smutty teenage self. Probably because you've got too much time on your hands (even at this time of year!). Unfortunate but not unendearing. Certainly not a deal breaker.Make it up to her with a Rupert Holmes link.
I suppose it could have been worse - The Proctolgist's Song for example - I'll just devote the rest of my life to good works
Ah.... Chrissie Hynd...Didnae kain what she missed.Onywey, Secret Santa brought me Keef's album. Proper treat!
I bet your Xmas list includes this!Kin ye still get intae yon white jeans wi' the tartan seams?>8-D
No show tonight??
interactive one by the looks of it, Adam, BB's going to pull festive words out of his tombola. TMI, in my opinion.
There's always 1971 and 1984 on POTPs on Alison Again! Some fine tunes from those Xmases.
Jeez, Adam, you're such a terr.
a card, old chap
Really needed to hear Heart of Glass again last night and oor Debbie will be on again tonight, I have nae doubt.
And Freddie Mercury. Most of the people I like are more shoegazers than front men.
Still, at least no one has mentioned Annie Lennox.
Atomic gets it 122nd play of 2015!A lot of xmas gush and goo on the other side the day. Even Billy's in amongst it wi a wee yuletide sook. :)A merry xmas to awbidy on thes wee blog!
Same to you and a good 2016.
Hope Sawndy Claw was guid to ye all. I love this time o year, all that Christmas music is tucked away for another eight months.Emdy spotted a creme egg yet?
I think everyone's been swept away by Frank. Or they've gone on a bender while mourning the passing of Lemmy.
NEXT YEAR'S (repeat) THEMES!
What's an early gig - 6pm?
Get a haircut!
Happy New Year, all.
to start the year
with a goal
