1st episode of Sounds of the 80s was pretty good, Billy! Worth a listen.
Cox started well but wilted towards the end when Boy George came on.

    2. Best not to look at playlists beforehand. You don't get the atmosphere of the show and you need to get a feel for Cox too.

    7. I've suggested that they possibly see past Fergie and play my Northern Soul suggestion (cos they can only have one from any minority genre per show...and I quite often suggest NS songs anyway)...that'll mean no plays for me for another 2 months. I'm such a grumpy old cow! My 'baby' has moved to Aiberdeen...that's my excuse. Jx sob Is it always so horrible when they fly the coop?

    8. My daughter left for Aberdeen at 17. 12 years later she lives round the corner from us with her husband. My son stayed at home and commuted, then moved to Australia when he got married. You do miss them when they go but when they come back a few of days is usually enough.

      Delete
    9. On the positive side you're not worried about where they are or when they're going to get home. I found out years later that my daughter once climbed up the drainpipe to get in through her brother's window.

    5. Glen, I've just read the response to your FB post and if I cared about the programme at all any more I'd weep. They don't get it, they never will because they don't need to. They have a coterie of loyal/dim listeners who keep offering up the same tired old suggestions because that way they'll get a name-check. This seems to be way more important than the music. I'll try putting the jotter on, maybe it'll sieze up their FB page :-)
