No delusions of grandeur then?
Whats all this about Glen being kicked out of FB???You were supposed to have his back, Mad Mac.
Mad mac is Glen Millers wing man?
DIdnt you know?Mac from McCann as in Terry.
I did & was straight on as alter ego Ivor... obviously the moderator isn't up to the mark, kinda like this week.
Two posts removed I know of.
Three - one removed instantly.
Right enough, Faither!
ah kain......no even any sweary words and yet that chap frae stars in your eyes gets a big mention....hmmmcheers frae the dale
It'll be EZ and the other Queenies. What did you say anyway, Glen?
EZ & the Queenies sounds like.a good name for a band...
"Fewest posts since Grannygate"
right enough, that's a comment too far, cheers frae the dale
I tried to add a remark to MM's enquiry as to the whereabouts of the playlist, only to find it had been removed. Ridiculous! Jx
...and...I'd been going to say that, actually, Babs is pretty good at getting the playlists online quickly. Some other producers however are very tardy, which I don't think should be ignored. On a BBC website, you'd expect information to be posted at uniform times. Jx
Ill-chosen themes poorly supported by even the scarily upbeat Facebook crowd. We deserve better. We're paying for it. Join me on Pacific Quay tomorrow evening.
I'll need to send my rep,SG.I would have sent EC in the North Sea but he's pricey.
See latest rant & a just cause to protest outside Pacific Quay teehee ;-)
That Hyrdo place is a great Arena. Very impressed. And beer only £4 a pint. Could have been worse....
Haven't heard of The Hyrdo
Now I don't want you lot changing your Energy Supplier when visiting!
pleased to hear that, Norrie, I saw some photos of the Rod Stewart gig and it looked horribly sterile and atmosphere-less. I've never been to an arena apart from the dire SECC - once and never to be repeated, but inevitably there are one or two bands that might go the The Hydro that I'd not see otherwise, so am happy it's decent. Son went to see Leonard Cohen at the O2, London - he wasn't a fan before and he's still not, but went on an invite and though he captioned his photo as being taken at a quidditch match - that's how far up they were, he really liked it.
I'm gutted Kaye Adams is leaving the morning phone in.
About time - she has been truly awful. Has Cowan been re-instated, he only spoke the truth.
No way Tam Cowan ... fae Cowan tae MacAulay I could'nae hack that!
Now now Norrie...The Daughter's just signed up for the Uni Ladies' football team and she's 'buzzing' at the thought of playing football again...she'll be raging that you agree with the that awful Cowan chap. Jx
I thought Kaye Adams did a really impressive job - it must be difficult to keep a grip on the diversity of opinion and be on top of a changing subject every day. Quite a feet. For me, Off The Ball has run its course and sounds as bankrupt as the leagues it reports on.
My daughter played rugby. Any sport should be encouraged.
Oh, I can't stand Kaye Adams, I listened a bit when I was between jobs and had to give up she annoyed me so much. There was one porgramme about use of correct grammar in which she continually spoke about 'talking posh' as if precise use of language were somehow to be despised in an inverted snobbery kind of way. And anyway I don't see what her feet have got to do with anything, but maybe Mr Git would understand?.
You don't understand how good kaye is until you hear Kirsty Wark attempting to do the same thing. Pedestrian by comparison. Rocky Racoon was quite good at it but they want wimmin folk really to get the wimmin quotient up. It is for this reason Cowan might not get back. Good article in the Telegraph about it.
Kaye annoys me. I don't think that listening to Kirsty is going to stop me being annoyed by Kaye, even though as you all know, I'm not easily annoyed.
I tuned in out of curiosity to OTB a few weeks back and was appalled at the lack of professionalism - the discussion between the presenters and guests often plunged into verbal mayhem with everybody talking at the same time......I'm sure the resident intellectual Cosgrove would be equally appalled if he stood back and listened to the programme again....however I once saw him in the departure lounge at Glasgow airport carrying a bottle of Irn-Bru so maybe I have too high expectations....he is taller than I had imagined too. T.Cowan is a disgrace to journalism but not if he wrote for the Daily Mail.cheers frae the dale
Used to listen regularly to OTB. Heard it more recently and thought Stuart Cosgrove sounded embarrassed by wee Tam. Bryan B is a lot shorter than I'd imagined.
Sorry....that last post was by me Jx
people talking over each other on the radio (or anywhere) does my head in. As if the listener were a totally unimportant add-on to the whole 'experience'. And as for people who don't speak clearly (a weather girl in particular ), or speak too fast - Zoe Ball for instance - she's nearly had my radio flung through the window she annoys me so much. And I'm not easily annoyed.

I didn't think it was possible, but they've got someone to produce an even more extraordinary vocal on the 'Outdoor Activities Forecast' - when it comes on we all try and impersonate - "Ssscotlaaand" "Hiiilaaands" it's hilarious. Although I think this is deliberate reverse cultural imperialism, it is also now the highlight of the show.
Trossachhhhhs to you
Please boycott today's "shoe in theme" citing support of the McAndrew Relay & Scottish Athletics historical events calendar!
I have nothing to contribute to tonight's show - is this a show of solidarity with our faither? I've no idea what the Athletics thingy is, but I won't be contributing.A relief all round, I'm sure.
There's a lot of worthy sponsorship going on but I only run to get to the car when it's raining.
Well that's Clancy away. Ludlum went young tae. Lets hope Lustbader hangs in there or else I'll hae nothing else tae read.
I'm savouring Le Carre's latest. You wonder how long they can go on.
Adam,I recommend Chris Brookmyre. His latest is a belter! Also, Gerald Seymour and Frederick Forsyth have new titles on the shelves.
P.S. Mishka Ben-David is getting good reviews. He has written five books about Mossad, (he used to work for them), the first of which, Duet in Beirut, is being released soon in English.
They can't be any good or he'd be dead
So much fur the boycott!
Standing alone on a rainswept Pacific Quay.
That's me just home.. "they" got security to escort me off the Pacific Quay concourse before leaving the building. I was told to get a life!
That's Hugh Cornwell's father
It's quite disturbing that the programme now feels the need to delete what seems to me quite innocuous comment from the f/b page. There have been and still are many inappropriate comments made on f/b but non of them from the 'bloggers'.Why, even the programme itself promotes sexist comment on air, endorsed but not publicly apologetic. For sure we all have to abide by a code of conduct, maybe the programme should remember that itself.cheers frae the dale
