I hate this theme... you know fine well if "they've" never heard of whoever you're attempting to showcase there's not a snowball in hells chance of a play.
I predict...

Tonight we're looking for your new discoveries. Tell us about the music you've just started listening to, a new album released by an artist you've loved for years, or a vintage recording you just came across recently.
He's probably kicking himself for not realising the band were named after the products of the Ferdinand Adolf Heinrich August Graf von Zeppelin he learned about in primary school.
Talking of discovering Hallelujah, I liked Julie's fb comment that one of the contestants on pish factor announced at their audition that they were doing a cover of Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah.
"Je suis une rock star" comes to mind quickly or "Denis" by Blondie or "San Plange pour moi" by Plastic Bertrand. All damn fine songs from years gone by".
Pretty much sums things up on the other side... It makes you weep.
A new discovery courtesy of DC!
ReplyDeleteWhat's the fuss? Is it because she's got Ed Miliband on guitar?
DeleteShe's all right (if you like Sunday School teachers) but she's no Kathleen Edwards

you get the idea, sorry y'all
It's another non-theme - you can say you've just discovered anything.
DeleteTonight we're looking for your new discoveries. Tell us about the music you've just started listening to, a new album released by an artist you've loved for years, or a vintage recording you just came across recently.
DeleteWell that narrows it down then(:-)
I think I'll listen to HarryfG. I hear he's doing a T Rex/Blondie/Queen Special.
DeleteI've rediscovered Blondie thanks to the power of TV advertising (:-)
Deletesomebody's just discovered Led Zepplen. (sic) I wonder if they're a tribute band.
ReplyDeleteI have just discovered how good Bruce Springsteen is and hope they play one of his many outstanding hits. Secret Garden would be great.
ReplyDeleteIn fairness Gaie it was their 9 mth old wean... aye right!
ReplyDeleteHe's probably kicking himself for not realising the band were named after the products of the Ferdinand Adolf Heinrich August Graf von Zeppelin he learned about in primary school.
DeleteFFS...
DeleteYou can have odds of 1/5 that Norrie will be this year's biggest Strictly fan. She's off the sofa and into the skimpy gear.
ReplyDeleteoh for goodn...please God nooooooooooooooo! Jx
DeleteI can advise that I have applied for tickets in the Ballot. This is not a joke.
DeleteFor all his smiley faces, EZ will be gunning for you now Glen.
ReplyDeleteThe Devil made me do it.
DeleteGott im Himmel the weans pick got played ... Christ, it's a great game played slow ;-(
ReplyDeleteTalking of discovering Hallelujah, I liked Julie's fb comment that one of the contestants on pish factor announced at their audition that they were doing a cover of Alexandra Burke's Hallelujah.
ReplyDeleteand well done Norrie on spelling Hallelujah right. Have you been disovering your spellchecker?
ReplyDeleteNo - he's discovered God.
DeleteSo many cover versions how could i possibly mispeal it.
DeleteYou could get away with alleluia or even הללו יה
DeleteThe Jah bit means God.
Yah?
Shofar, shogood.
Now, where did I put that imaginary ram's horn?
I'm in a state of shock! There were some great tunes played on GIO last night. I really liked that Roddy Hart song Norrie (:-)
ReplyDeleteI liked Kodaline but that Birdy cover of Fire & Rain......
DeleteI didn't say they were all good. That one was particularly dire!
DeleteIt is a good record Billy.
DeleteI presume the BBC have informed the police in advance of tonight's show. Otherwise the cells will be full of air saxophone players.
ReplyDeleteBudge up MM (:-)
DeleteI might get moderated again... today's shout on Farcebook, I'm A W*nker ~ Ivor BIggin
ReplyDeleteA misprint?
Delete"Moderation in all things."
Terence
But the only instrument you can play along to that is Ken Dodd's Airp....
Delete*sigh*
Pure diddy, man!
>8-D
Oh dear that's the previous comments function removed.
ReplyDeleteIt's still there. I don't see how they can moderate you when they produce smut like this:
Delete"Goodmorning! ... just warming up for some rockin' Air guitar moves, or an epic bit of air drumming and maybe even a round of muscle-pulling"
It follows on from records that you came across recently...
DeleteI'll get my coat (:-)
Nope can't see it or those prior .. must be the phone
DeleteYes, Billy - they could just have said "records you like a lot"
DeleteIt's still there, Mac - they've jammed your phone line. Do you see blue lights outside the window?
Does anybody have John Sutherland's phone number?
DeleteMy counsel has advised they'll hand down a reduced sentence if I plead guilty and don't mention my Ding A Ling.
DeleteZut alors FB is jam packed already. It's going to be a busy show tonight (:-)
ReplyDeleteI'm undecided between Mexican Radio and Yuri. Which one will be most likely to be ignored?
DeleteI think you've got a better chance with your barbecued iguana song.
DeleteI see Glen is trying to break his record. This time on FB!
August 8 2011 was the last time they did this, I think. It always seems more recent. I remember the Coronation, you know.
DeleteDoes I Zimbra count as it's not a foreign language although it sounds like it?
DeleteN'Emmenes Pas Harry
DeleteIt's a Dadaist poem I recall Billy.
DeleteUnlike Psycho Killer...
DeleteIs Da Da Da Dadaist too?
DeleteStupid question - it's obviously Dadadaist.
Delete"Je suis une rock star" comes to mind quickly or "Denis" by Blondie or "San Plange pour moi" by Plastic Bertrand. All damn fine songs from years gone by".
DeletePretty much sums things up on the other side...
It makes you weep.
I don't care.. you lot think you are so clever. I'm looking forward to Blondie & Plastic tonight as they're so popular.
DeleteIt helps my case for bail
Delete"It's going to be a busy night". Why? They always play the same number of records and talk the same amount of crap.
DeleteThe record/crap ratio varies depending on the producer.
DeleteYou could compile individual RCR indices - extra points for mindless giggles and descriptions of food - deductions for Warren Zevon records.
DeleteLet the charm offensive begin 😇
ReplyDeleteHe'll always play The Communards
DeleteHe'll alway play Labelle & Ian ... it's Jimmy actually!
DeleteGood effort Glen!
ReplyDeleteGreat start with four on the trot but fell short of your record of seven.
6 and a half (Dean Martin - wrong song).
You'll be vexed you didn't include Blondie on your list.
What about my effort... thought of you as a pal. Whurs Billy?
DeleteActually I've just double checked and Glen you got 7 and a half! Well done, a new record!
DeleteWhere was your effort, Italian cheese cracker?
Not bad for a cut and paste job (:-)
DeleteNo I Zimbra, Mexican Radio or Yuri I expect?
I've been offered a job doing horoscopes. Stay indoors tomorrow, Billy.
DeleteIt was a good day for me - I became a grandfather.
I knew your weren't yourself ... your time won't be yours for nonsense like this now.
DeleteCongratulations, Glen! In no time at all he/she will be suggesting Hot Tuna songs on GIO.
DeleteCongratulations faither!
DeleteYou can imagine the joy on the child's face as they hear Moby Grape for the first time!
Congratulations Glen (:-)
DeleteMazeltov, Sabba!
(and, for tomorrow),
Yom huledet sameach!
:o)
P.S. We Cancerians don't believe in astrology.
Thanks for your good wishes. Zoe Miller lives in Boston and may be America's first Jewish woman President.
DeleteI would point out that I requested "Llareggub" by The Manics separately, bringing my total to 8.
Well done GM.
DeleteI'll be in Boston for a couple of days in October as it happens.
Going to an Indian tea conference entitled More Than Darjeeling.
