You're probably right but they are events rather than musical recitals. Bruce was good at Glastonbury, though, and the Stones performance of Sympathy for the Devil at Murrayfield was better than the record, I thought.
Agree about Sympathy... Saw them do that at the Maracana on the Voodoo Lounge tour and it was excellent. I revisited that album recently and its worth a listen.
I've signed up for Runrig at The Castle Esplanade in 5 weeks time. Seemed like a good idea last November. Eldest son's wedding in three weeks and youngest graduation fae CU Jimmy in a fortnight. Runrig will nae doot be a blessed relief
it's a brilliant idea - saw them at Christmas, as ever, at The Barras and I thought maybe with no new stuff out and having seen them so many times before it could be a disappointment - no way. I don't think they'd have lasted this long if Donnie hadn't left and Bruce livened them up again. My daughter and I went to see Donnie's farewell at Stirling Castle and thought that's it, we'll never see them again - she was 12 I think at the time and tears were shed for the end of the band she'd loved since she was old enough to shove a tape in the car player. Some years later they came to Greenock and since it was cheap and on our doorstep we thought give it a go. Never looked back, that was an amazing night, the band was completely re-energised, and we've seen them most years since.
No had much time tae get on this blog this month but taken the last half hour tae read the posts since the end o May. It's a real tragedy that the BBC pulled the plug last year caws the knowledge, humour & inspiration (I agree that Gaie has some good ideas Billy!) from the regulars here is sadly missin fae the Get It On show now. Tae be honest, I rarely tune in now caws I don't feel the need tae do so. Great tae hear fae awbiddy her though!
By the way Dale, it's impossible tae go 'over AND out' and Adam, that fotie o you wi Senga will come back tae haunt you.
An exciting few weeks for you DC. Enjoy the bit where the graduates applaud their families - you have earned it.
Where is the wedding? Scotch and I have bought glasses, dyed our hair red and formed a tribute band called The Disclaimers. We could do a spot on the dance floor.
