    the problem i have is not in the pedantry of the meaning of unique or otherwise but that the music was uniquely pure rubbish, in the main.

      Not me AFR. 80s weren't bad at all. I spent many hours of early 80s dancing to some good tunes in AFR's wee dive of a free disco...great place!

      yes,I saw that and for a moment was excited till I remembered what GIO can do to even the most promising themes.

      And just to be clear, One Direction and Justin Beiber don't feature on my ipod or any of my other listening devices.

      As for 'down with the kids', you're spot-on, there's some running up & down next door's stairs, making me very angry. That's not good on a Saturday night when I've walked round the Cut, done many chores and now have a nice movie to watch.

    Think I'll start with some Cranberries, reflect on Paris with some Dropkick Murphys and end up in the House of Pain.

    Oh, MM, please, lovely a guy as Rory seems to have been, I can't get into his music apart from some great acoustic stuff I heard on a TV programme. How about if I look for something that was recorded in the last 5 years? (though not by Rory of course, now that he, Gary and Alvin are jammin' about never having to go home again.) I'll happily listen to Gary though.
