    6. Did you sail up the Clyde to Braehead, DC? There used to be a ferry from the city centre but it wasn't supported and failed.

    7. The Forth & Clyde Canal's handy but in some stretches there are boys with air rifles.

    8. My stretch was from Knightswood flyover to Singer.

    9. A sail? Chance would be a fine thing! Naw, we went for a TonyRomaRib on Friday, had a Starbucks white cafe mocha with cream while reading the Herald on Saturday morning then went tae see Interstellar in the IMAX that afternoon.

Went for a few beers at teatime and had the weirdest experience:

      Only in Glezgy......

An auld lad, says he was 87, asked me to look out for him as he went for his taxi, caus he wisnae steady on his feet. He said he'd had a few nips, but it was the stroke he'd had a few weeks back that was the real problem. He went on tae say he'd slipped out the back door of a hospital and gone for a drink, but was on his way back. He was dreading meeting the charge nurse.

I got him to the pavement edge and found a seat for him, then went back to my IPA. The auld lad sat there, in the cold, for nearly half an hour before a taxi came.

      Wired story

As I said, only in Glezgy

    10. He'd say "a few haufs". A friend of mine who lost his leg used to get the bus to the pub from the hospital, I think it gets boring being cooped up.

More importantly the LE hasnt been spotted for a while. Hope she's awricht.

    1. I thought they were tremendous Gaie. Great set list (all the hits as you would expect but a good few tracks which would have been less expected. The times I have seen the Who they have done a brilliant jon with the back screen projections (I am sure there is a more modern way of doing it) and this time was no exception. So other than a couple of false starts due to it being the first night - a great gig.

On the gig home straight for thsi year....

    2. I see Daltrey was staying at Mar Hall and did a few numbers at a wedding. Judging by the Wilko and McCartney albums he can still sing.

    3. Glad you enjoyed it, Norrie. Your thoughts on massive arenas? My son saw the National in London and though he's a huge, huge fan of theirs, he wasn't as blown away as I was in the Usher Hall. I've never been anywhere as big as the Hydro etc so can't comment. I was surprised at the atmosphere in The Usher, given that I was way up the top, but you could feel the waves of excitement coming right up from the floor. Someone's going to take the p*** any minute and that's OK, because the understanding of what it is that leaves you absolutely buzzing after a great gig absolutely fascinates me. I mean nearly 3 weeks after the event and the thought of Robert Plant at the Academy still cheers me up after a tedious day at the Bun-sgoil.

    4. Not a fan in the slightest of massive Arenas but sometimes needs must. The Hydro is by no means the worst of them. I think like a lot of things in life you have to take it for what it is...were you not quite high up at the Albert Hall?

      Delete
    5. I was, but I'd say a building with as much history as that has enough atmosphere of its own to go a long way. On that day I was so excited to be there and so filled with emotion when they came on stage I could probably have been anywhere though. I do realise there are bands I'd only be able to see by going to the Hydro or wherever, it just hasn't come up so far. Nothing now till Fairport Convention and then Roaming Roots.

  9. Its a busy one tonight...who you got there?

    1. Don't worry Norrie. John from Tarbolton and Tony from Ravenswood are going to be busy on the phones later.
