  3. It can only be David Byrne, constantly innovative and exciting! His recent collaboration with St Vincent 'Love This Giant' was fantastic and the stage show at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall was amazing. I would like to hear 'Who' from this album.

  5. If I were to suggest anyone for tonight it might have been Robert Plant, but I saw him on a programme about Roy Harper last night and he'd either just washed his hair or it was really greasy. It wasn't an appealing look on an old geezer. If you're going on the telly you should be better groomed - I've often told Rick Wakeman that, though I don't think he was listening. On the other hand, Roy Harper looked very trim.

    3. Oh OK...burst my bubble why don't you...7-8 minutes. You wouldn't get that nowadays unless it was by Queen, Rufus or Dusty...or the extended version of Hurt - Johnny Cash. Jx

    4. I think it was revenge for being so condemnatory of the previous evening's show, but it was a small price to pay for the great improvement last night. They also said little about the evening chomping.

GIO has taken a back seat while we've been amusing ourselves in Chateau Hannah watching a DVD of Dennis Potter's "Lipstick On Your Collar" - truly truly epic stuff.Ewan Mac Gregor's breakthrough but the rest of the cast, including Dougie Henshall were utterly fantastic.Amazing performance from the lead actress, Louise Germaine, who astonishingly, left the business after this amazing triumph. Order a copy, it's superb..

  16. a truly amazing weekend of listening to 'free music'..............first it was in the underground malls of canary wharf........maverick pianist......tokio myers....nice to listen to while sipping a cafe nero espresso...then it was wembley where the entertainment was tiny tempa and ........the bloke from kiss singing the stars and stripes..the game itself was pulsating.........

    1. oh, I know someone who'd be very jealous of you seeing Gene Simmons. She posted a photo of him at that very gig and I thought he looked a bit OLD - how does that happen? Did anyone watch a programme a few years back about schoolkids putting together a band with Mr Simmons as their mentor? A real-life (well as far as TV goes) Rockschool. He was good at the job and perceptive about the kids. Well, I thought so anyway, don't want to stand on any teachers' toes here.

yesterday's GIO FB pics and sooking-up were beyond nauseating. You can see why Henri's banana loaf went down a treat though - don't think Miss B's scones would walk it at the WI baking competition.

    1. Well, age doesn't come alone Billy - I have to dot in and out of the thing as I'm working and then I remember stuff - like it's actually 'Up The Ladder To The Roof' . My present favourite CD 'Artie & The Singers' has two tracks about the Moon which I'm really fond of. Besides I have to redouble my efforts otherwise Fergie from Aberdeen will run away with the show and Bryan's affections. The guy has had a whole blogfull of favourite obscurities played, but, I thought Fergie's shout last night wasn't a patch on Bobby Vinton - ironic, we're being treated to obscurities now whether they are any good or not.In the time I've been listening to GIO, it is surprising how much Bryan's taste has moved from C&W to Soul Boy. And people have been talking about Banana loaves again.....not looking forward to tonight's theme, already shaping up for a disaster on f***book.but will Eric become Freddie? Tune in at 6:10!

    2. SHOCK!! G_M has been deleted on f/b, presumably for poor taste.
