Metal Machine Music

What other great instrumental tracks could they play in addition to Going Home, Stranger On The Shore, Albatross, Green Onions?

  5. they could try Skies Over Cairo, Django, Django - or just mention it in passing on their way to something they've played before. Obviously they could also play Jeff Beck - Cause We've Ended as Lovers, but since there are over 100 posts on FB they'll more likely go for the 'popular tonight' angle, hugely relieved that their daring theme of 5 years or less hadn't permanently lost them their listeners.

"BREAKING UP IS HARD TO DO..."

I would dispute that. Staying together is hard. Easier to stay single.

I see there are a lot of Tom Petty shouts today but none from Gaie.
And Henri and Norrie seem to have been on the wrong end of a few chuckings over the years.

  9. I love Tom dearly, as you know, but if I want to listen to him I'll just put on a CD. Suggesting someone that hasn't been played before, or a relatively new band is a wee challenge I'm up for now and again, but that's it.

Tonight, BTW, Richard Thompson on BBC4.

And Glen 'll be impressed that my son's picked up on Warren Zevon from somewhere. Not GIO, obviously.

  10. I have some sad news.

DC has been admitted to East Fife General Hospital suffering from Rhinocopter's disease (a brain malfunction rendering the patient incapable of speaking without using anagrams).

His condition is said to be tarty fiascos.

  12. So when's instrumental night. I might come out of retirement and ask for Marvin's After the Dance (Instrumental Version).
The reason for this would be that the vocal version wouldn't qualify unless they are still bending the rules on themes.

    3. The ultimate chorus - Jesus Wants me For A Sunbeam.

Since ultimate is an absolute there can only be one record each evening, so good opportunities for lots of folksy chat from Miss B.
