I bought the David Byrne & St Vincent album from Aye Choons at a very reasonable price. I also bought tickets for the concert at GRCH at a less reasonable price.

Saw Cloud Atlas today. Distracting to see Glasgow pretend to be San Francisco. The 1973 date is about right though.
I reckon it's a remake of Cannon given the Lincoln.
So was it good? Hoping to see it soon. Was great to hear Hamish Imlach and Cod Liver-oil and the Orange Juice on radio2 last night. Took me back to the days of underage-drinking in the Struan where a couple of singer/guitarists used to come all the way from Glasgow - imagine! - and the pub walls bulged on a Saturday night with us all singing Wild Rover and other cultural gems. It was brilliant and I suppose the first taste of the headiness of a live gig.Dark rum and coke please!
Cloud Atlas is worth seeing. Stay until you see the credits. You may be surprised. There was a thriving folk scene before pop groups took over. To my shame I remember mocking a couple of earnest boys rendering an Appalachian folk song in the style of the timber wolf. Today there would be hushed reverence.
