If you can't say anything nice then don't say anything. That's always been my motto.

It's an eerie coincidence that on this very day in 2010 his son Pat won the Over 50s Mixed Doubles title with Billie Jean King at Stade Roland-Garros.
Could you not tell how bored I was to have come up with such a sad factoid ;-(
Happy Positive Thinking Day!!

Happy to help ;-)
Tonight, Bryan, can you please play Silver Machine - Hawkwindto remind me of those heady (if cold) nights in the Younger Hall
This comment has been removed by the author.
Silver Machine must the most unmelodic, uninventive (Sgt. Pepper chords) and thoroughly boring song (musically and lyrically) ever released. But, since it's Positive Thinking Day - No Hawkwind, no Motörhead.

The advance booking requirement would probably rule me out, the doorman has my photograph and the restraining order is still in force.
Taxi drivers are permitted to wander in and use the cludgie, which is a welcome relief! After last week's themes, any change has to be an improvement.>8-D

Isn't that Miss Babs on bongos?
One Song SundayThe choon I most enjoyed popping up on my random shuffle media player of choice last week was How I miss you baby / Bobby WomackComes with a govt health warning though. Hear it and it'll be goin round and round your skull for days afterwards.
well I watched the Richard Thompson documentary last night (BBC4 iplayer) so my song is Dimming of the Day - Bonnie Raitt & Richard Thompson
The current Fairports are really good (especially Tull cohort Dave Pegg on bass) having been together for 15 years - much longer than the early line-ups. A female voice would be the icing on the cake.
Oh good - since I still have their concert to watch tonight - I think it was a very recent one. I read Sandy Denny's biog a wee while back - what a wild, wild woman, but what a voice. Watched the Fairport documentary last night as well.
You would expect bands of old men to be slick but you can only marvel at the ability and talent of the 18 year old Richard Thompson pushing into new territory.
Yes - I know nothing about playing the guitar, but even I could see in the close-up shots that he was making the strings do all sorts of things that looked to me to be way beyond his years.
