  3. DC - previously on the blog - I'd love to say I'd bought some new albums, but sumdy stole my credit card details so all transactions halted for now. I only ever used it for online and phone so no idea how the no swear-words allowed person got the details.
However, I shall in the distant future if I've not been cleaned out, but buying the new Joe Bonamassa and maybe Oli Brown's one too. And the Unwinding Hours - Afterlives.

As for letters, Frankie Miller's Love Letters. I'll play it myself since GIO certainly wouldn't.

    1. Cheers, I might have a wee listen. I enjoyed the Head and the heart, Kassidy & Abigail Washburn recommendations from the blog.

Here! Where's Henri? Is he hiding in the Ecuadorian Embassy?

    2. I also have Kassidy's second, but I can't say more than it's just OK.

    1. Guess so DC but no longer listen in myself .. attempt to upset Farcebook with "on trend" ridiculous suggestions!

Hope you and Mr Rio have had great evening.

    2. Yes Julie and I still make suggestions. Her as "Get It On Sweetheart", myself as "Get It On Sook".

      These suggestions are rarely played.

  8. It was a fine night but, because it was mid-week, it was only for a couple of hours & we only managed the three pints.

It should be pointed out that I left Adam in the pub so I can't verify his alcoholic beverage count. I think he wanted to show everyone his Brazilian.

Hope you guys have a good time Friday!

  9. Good to see you all last night (sorry you couldnt make it Norrie).

  13. Scotch looked like he'd walked straight out of one of Willie Bartke's folk clubs. Gaie didnt have to bother about haverin passengers. Just snorin ones.

  15. We should've repaired to the Spiegeltent afterwards...Louise + I went there later and there were bands playing. I was lucky as The Lost Fingers were on...good fun band. I'll try to remember for next August! Hic!

  16. OK, so who was there, what was the topic of conversation etc?

    ReplyDelete
  17. me, paolo, Imelda, Paul, Billy, Adam, Frank, mary-doll, Henri, SG, Julie & JuliespalLouise.

HRC asked us for requests for songs, we set up a space theme, they didn't have any of the records. We had this sudden sense of deja vu.
    Random topics of conversation;
Paul McCartney and why he should stop dying his hair or use a product that's not the same as Elton John's and Cliff Richard's, Bon Jovi and the band's coke dealer,
Phil Collins who gets an unfair press,
    David Byrne from Dumbarton,
    Julie's efforts on the ukelele,
Henri's efforts at breaking into broadcasting,
    the longest single in history.
    multiple identities

    TBC..

    1. did you mean dying, his hair...

      or dyeing his hair

To me his hair's irrelevant - he should just stop singing.

I'm sorry I missed the get-together. I was at The Baseballs gig at Spandau Zittadelle.

    2. dyeing his hair, or dying on-stage; either is applicable.

      how were the Baseballs?

    3. Great fun and much appreciated by young women who dressed like my big sister used to. And all the better for being sponsored by a brewery.

  18. RIP Neil Armstrong one of the world's greatest actors.

    1. According to some Radio 4 thingy I was listening to, the reason there's no picture of Neil walking on the moon to verify things is because Buzz Aldrin (who wanted to be in Armstrong's place, but wasn't and was huffing, contacts not come through for him) refused to take his picture because he was "busy". Huffing, presumably. Had Armstrong's name been Harry, I'm sure there would have been enough snappers ready to record the event.

    3. Gaie, were there any new revelations about multiple identities? I mean, have we ever seen Norrie in the same room as Scotch?

      Delete
    4. Norrie and Scotch were in the Counting House last time, but Thing-Fish and Glen have never been seen - at all.
Madmac and 25 others have never been seen.
Scotch and Christophe have never been seen at the same time, though I did half expect to see a beret and stripey jumper along with the new facial hair. Zut alors!

      The speculation continues.
