Can You Hear The Silence?

Van was / is indeed a Seer! In 1990 he predicted 3 (count them) 1 and 1/2 hour slots of BBC Radio Scotland reporting LIVE on a candle.....

I can think of several four-letter words which describe Van.

Seer is not one of them.

    Previously on Norrie's Blog....

Tony Blackburn's show yesterday was not as advertised. Instead, we heard a selection of the 20 best selling singles of the seventies, and, in the 2nd. hour, a selection of the 20 best selling singles of the eighties.

It sounded eerily similar to another radio show. You know! The one we used to listen to...

    2. Maybe it's all part of the Beeb's £700m per annum cut backs... I.E. they've sold off the regional record collections keeping only the favourites for UK wide usage via a central library in Broadcasting House?

    1. I am going to listen. Like those scientists tracking radio waves from outer space seeking beeps from beyond. Bet first thing they hear from outer space is Queen or maybe The Proclaimers.

Nae probs! Tune into BBC Radio4 18:30 - 19:00 for a chuckle, then

BBC Radio2 19:00 - 20:00 for some decent music! (Except Tuesday).

  9. Shall we chat about the Euros then? Until Thursday?

  10. I don't know much about economics.

  11. Well there are two topics which are unrelenting in their endless tedium: the eurozone crisis and Rangers Football Club - the only thing worth discussing is which is the bigger mess and it's a pretty close run thing, so I'll skip those.

Now that Megrahi is away and the show is turned it's back on its troublesome bloggers, there's not so much to get excited about.

Don't be concerned about not understanding much about economics - any arts based subject that has to employ algebraic formulation to demonstrate that your second Mars Bar doesn't taste as good as your first to try and appear scientific is very dodgy anyway - as witnessed by the chaos we have all inherited from people with impressive looking Algebra.

    1. Is this treatise available in paperback?

I think Adam meant football. The only excitement so far has been German fans throwing money on to the pitch.

    3. And it's pretty much the original line-up. All these years of learning, practising, rehearsal, personnel changes, small gigs, touring, recording, promotion, personal appearances, videos, management problems, huge earnings and bigge rip-offs, illness and recuperation, breakdowns and rehab, marriages, children and divorces, triumphs and disasters have all been leading up to this concert. It should be quite good.

Yes, of course the lovely Mike still plays with them, I'm as nearly as excited to see him as I am Tom.

  16. As I was walking down the road beside the prison, I noticed a rope ladder appear over the wall and then this midget began to climb down it. Just before he reached bottom he looked at me in a rather smug, supercilious fashion.

I thought - that was a little condescending.

    Tickled me, anyway.
