1000 comments are only the beginning. We must build on this and look forward to 2000, 5000, yes, even 10,000 grumbles.Moan like you mean it. Groan with gusto. Bleat with bravado. Snivel with stamina. Let us complain our way into a disappointing tomorrow.
It's split right down the middle - was top heavy. I've chopped one half off and will cut right back when the colours are past. Don't know if it'll survive, but I'll take many cuttings.
You be quiet, AfR, your favourite theme coming up tomorrow, you should be busy with a McCaffertylist.
Gaie, not only are we getting our favourite and most repeated theme again, I’ve noticed that over the last few years we’ve been getting it around the same time. Its almost as if GIO are trying get the Space theme into the national calendar. Alongside the Cup Final, Ascot, the Boat Race, the Open and Wimbledon, the Space theme is beginning to become part of the national psyche. Already there are reports of kids running out after 8 to the back garden or on the streets to re-enact “Clouds Across The Moon” or “Starship Trooper”. Stories abound of gangs of children crying out to passing adults “(insert own town name) aint the kind of place to raise your kids!” While the brighter ones are sat round trying to come up with as many words of four letters or more from “Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Most Extraordinary Craft”. (There’s always a giggle when someone puts pants down).
When the bass theme came up I tried to look back at previous suggestions but the archive is no longer available. A treasure trove of wit and wisdom lost forever.
hope it's not as disappointing as Tutti Frutti was for me when it finally came out on video after all these years remembering it as one of the best things I'd ever seen. Still don't know what happened there.
Same with me Gaie. I was already over here when TF came out so didnt see it but heard so much about it. Bought it when it came out on dvd a few years ago and was very disappointed.
......very few shows stand the test of time....the robbie coltrane thing...its too local......but dad's army....now there is comic tv at its very best and still very funny....
Great day out at the fringe yesterday...lunch, wine, tram-trip, drinks, cabaret, drinks, poetry slam, drinks, a show for a fiver cos I live in Edinburgh, great wee noodle place, didn't resort to taxi home...y'all should've come over! Jx
Joan Violet Stretch I was shocked to hear the news today Cliff I don't believe it, why don't they leave celebrities alone keep them out of the media accused before its proven in court, I'm in tears this has happened to you Cliff xx

what you moaning about, Mr Git, I won a ticket to George Square and it was brilliant fun. There's your compensation: knowing I was happy and not out shooting deer and litter louts.
As he turned to the crowd at George Square, BB suddenly turned pale. It came flooding back, those awful days of the blog, those days that had turned his life into a waking nightmare. And then he remembered that it was he who was in charge, it was he who could choose the music and he threw a warning look that said, I know who you are, you'll never ever get another song played on MY show.
to be fair, he did a good job and it was his co-host who caused consternation when she said that if you wanted a good time then look no further than the ladies' hockey team
congratulations, Glen. When's the celebration party?

DeleteMy beautiful Rhus shrub succumbed yesterday, but the wind took it down and you can't shoot the breeze.
Assuming it's not totally uprooted it should survive. Even if it is you could re-plant it. My antirrhinums got a terrible pasting but I'm being brave.
DeleteIf we're no allowed football .....

DeleteThat's one of my favourite things Jx
ReplyDeleteDear World. David Bowie does not have a song called Major Tom. Please stop requesting it.
ReplyDeleteIt's his third best record after Heroes and Rebel Rebel.
DeleteHow easy you forget dancing in the street
ReplyDeleteit's probably fair to say that if I'd been dancing in the street I'd have no memory of it the next morning

Reminds me of a colleague who innocently enquired what Newquay was like and was misunderstood.

Did you get close enough to touch the hem of his garment, Gaie?
DeleteHere's my picture of Hero at Hampden. I shouted to him but (fortunately) he could not hear.

I think yours is a better picture of him than mine, Glen, but thankfully there were still several rows of folk between me and the hem of his garment.
Deleteto be fair, he did a good job and it was his co-host who caused consternation when she said that if you wanted a good time then look no further than the ladies' hockey team
DeleteI suppose it helps to eke out the sponsorship money.
