Leonard Cohen

His new album is excellent, I wonder if he is just going as himself for guising.

BTW I know I am a grouch but what happened to Halloween being for kids? All these adults dressed up......bah.

Just got back from Cochabamba (Bol) and Halloween is huge there. Much bigger than here. Maybe its because of their Day of the Deid.

    1. Sadly they don't call it guising anymore, though here in Greenock they're doing their best to keep the old local word Galoshans going. It's all trick or treat now and it's big in that it's all over the shops - an excuse to sell nonsense like Halloween tinsel and banners etc etc. All the kids wear ready-made costumes, but the face-painting I'd have to agree, is pretty impressive.

Here's a wee tune for Halloween

    4. Best guising 'party piece' I ever heard was George Kane burping the national anthem. He might've been related to Penicuik's premier crime family but he made my Dad laugh and even give him money instead of sweeties so that says something.

Have the B.B.C. announced a period of mourning?

I caught the final 20 minutes of Wednesday's show, and it almost scuppered years of therapy!

Thankfully, a wee spell of Country music restored my equilibrium.

    Thank God for Charlie Daniels!

And of course there's July 9th when I will be standing several miles away in Hyde Park while Norrie gets up close and personal with Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks.

    5. Stop before you reach the river. Just noticed George Harrison's triple being re-released at £84. I order it for around £4 from Virgin mail order when it came out. After some time they said they didn't have and I asked for a refund which came in the form of an unsigned cheque. I eventually got a cheque signed by Richard Branson which I wish I'd kept.

  31. Rab was brilliant. Came on in an eye-watering striped suit and accompanied by a full band - cello, banjo, guitars, fiddle, the lot and his voice seems, if anything, stronger in spite of the tonsillar cancer of a couple of years ago. So glad I went after a last minute decision - when I booked the ticket it came up with 1 ticket left - I assumed that meant only single seats, but then it was unallocated cabaret seating so I think I did actually get the last ticket.

And I didn't get lost. Or have to pay £9 to park on a heap of rubble. Result.
