I was at the Craws Nest yesterday, sadly for you East Neukers I have to report it is to be demolished.

  1. Really? Me and DC used to work there. Lets hear what he has to say.

  2. I went there once with a guy who had concussion following a rugby match. The evening wasn't a success.

    1. Well at least the injury got you past first base, Gaie.
Do you remember the year? He didnt play for Waid FPs did he?

    2. It was many years ago is all I'm saying, Adam, but he was a young farmer from Kilconquhar and I don't know who he played for. We only went out twice...His sister did go to Waid right enough.

    3. An uncharacteristically ungallant comment Adam, that a man would need to be concussed to go out with Gaie,

    4. Yep, I worked as wine waiter then barman for many years at the Craws. A fine place, and there's a chance some on this blog will be there again in future - it's being converted into an old folks' home.

We don't refer to "Kilconquhar" as such in these parts, the place is known as "Kinnuchar".

Perhaps best not to start a limerick competition.....

    5. Not entirely glad you translated that comment for me, Glen, though it did have me a bit puzzled. I used to think Adam was a nice guy too.

Yes, DC, I know about the pronunciation. I just wish I could remember the name of the farm. I've been past that way recently, visiting my good chums Malcolm Middleton and family who were staying in Geilston Estate and are now moving to Anstruther, yes, I know how it's pronounced too. See me, see parliamo East Neuk.

    6. There was an old man in Kilconquhar
Who was sharing a room with a trquhar
Whose favourite trick involved licorice sticks,
Well it certainly made his lips pquhar

  4. I see Tom Petty's releasing an album of the leftovers from Wildflowers. Be interesting to see how that stands up. Can't say I made much of Hypnotic Eye - though I didn't persevere too much - so will the old stuff be better or just old and second-rate, having not made the cut in the first place?
