Cowboy Hat in Dallas - Charlie Daniels Band

Namechecks 11 States. Alas, Bryan & Babs think that 'The Devil Went Down to Georgia' is the only song the C.D.B. ever recorded, and it also fits the theme.

It's been a wee while since Lyle Lovett featured on the show.

On the indisputable grounds that they never listen to my superb suggestions, you & Julie should ask for one of his songs.

Based on the indisputable grounds that Norrie & Julie always get their suggestions played.

Indeed, I salute the grounds' indisputability!

  3. SG, it doesnt say songs that namecheck States. The theme is celebrating American Independance Day.
So Henri's mum should get on along with Kim and Eck Harvey. Bowie's Young Americans should be a shoo in and maybe if we're lucky this

  10. Well, that's Bernie Nolan away...it might not be too late to zip down to the Ferry to catch Candi. The Ironworks wasn't mobbed out, great gig. Smiffy & me right at the front -Candi sang to us.Great band, the bass player and the backing singers I saw with Jimmy Cliff last April in the O2. Ther wasn't much tambourine bashing, and quite a lot of muscle shoales R&B - very funky. The disco stuff was superb, great stuff.the backing singer announced Candi as "StAte -on" - i realised that I'd mis prnouced it for years as "Statin" and immediately started thinking Candi's sweet sould music improves your circulation.

Well, that's The Proclaimers & Kim Wilde been on already..

    3. Towards the end, but just the once, and then we got into some serious R&B/Disco. Not much tambourine bashing but 'You Got The Love' and 'Halleuiah Anyway' were epic. Much better than Florence & The Machine. Good covers of In The Ghetto and stand By Yer Man and interesting stories about her marriage to Clarence Carter and the muscle sholes scene.
