Deja Vu

The theme is songs and artists you have recently discovered and / or classic artist what you have just discovered and falling in love with again. Again.

Is it just me or is this the most regular  repeated repeat theme.

  1. I think they see it as their "Refresh" button.
After a couple of Blondies and a Streets Have No Name its maybe a no bad thing. Plus its a chance to get Daft Punk on!

    Previously on the Blog...

    2. Yeah I know that every night is repetitive...

Can't wait for another macaroni cheese debate tonight!

  2. Why on earth do they have to be so timid. Just go for the new discoveries, discard the excuse to have a new Proclaimers devotee make the playlist.

Wonder if they'd play Tribes, haha; saw them at Òran Mòr last night (downstairs in the even wee-er bit I didn't know existed - upstairs isn't that big). The support were a band called Blindfolds - great in parts, worth keeping an eye on, though depends on whether they live up to the standard of the first, say, 3 songs, or decide just making a lot of noise is fine, as in the remainder. Lead singer's pretty weird.

Tribes were brilliant and the crowd were up for it, jumping up & down & stuff. Yee ha, was great fun (watching people jumping up & down).

    4. Why do we say jumping up and down. You can't jump down and if you jump up coming back down is inevitable. Why not just say jumping?

While I'm on, I see the BBC has adopted that annoying Americanism "for free".

    5. haha, Adam, never spotted that one!

Glen, you're right and if the much-quoted and long-departed Nelly Blair of Rothesay Academy English dept were here, he'd agree with you. Oh, the hours we spent on précis exercises. Never an unnecessary word remained. And now we tweet. He'd have used that as an exercise I'm sure.

      I loathe 'various different'

      Paratroopers jump down.

And, having jumped, Shetlanders say they jamp.

    7. Agreed, but "jumping up and down" is usually done on a level surface.

    8. Did you know Jimmy Dewar, Gaie?

    9. I'd say paratroopers jump out.

    10. 'Wee Jimmy' Dewar was the heidie in my last couple of years and he lived just down the road from my Mum and Dad's house so I used to see him often tending his beloved garden. He died not so long ago I think.

    11. He was my geography teacher in Glasgow before he went to Rothesay. A friend used to visit him in Craigard where he stayed after his wife took ill. They would share a drink and Jimmy (still sharp in his late 80s) would recount surprising and amusing stories of the former colleagues who dominated our lives at school.

    12. I think he was a decent, civil soul and I bet he had some tales from the characters in RA. There were some very much larger than life teachers there, of whom Nelly B was by far the largest.
