  3. Why rule out individual songwriters like Cole Porter, Dylan and Paul McCartney?

It has to be Bacharach & David. No one has equalled their work with Dionne Warwick.

  4. Meanwhile on ALison Again....

Not only was Henri on with Rhianna, he was a regular commentator via texts throughout the show.
    Very "Jim Fae Erskine" Henri!!

Is this a sort of Stockholm Syndrome - Creator / Monster type of thing?

  5. Well, it struck me as a duff theme - asking people to request things they know nothing about.Reading the f***book pages, it was eveident that everyone took the opportunity to request things they really already knew everything about: on this basis I might as well have asked for Macca.

So I tried to think of things I hadn't a scoobie about, Rhianna and Christine Alligator (the latter I really am interetsed in because Jack Bruce recommends her highly, though I'm not sure why) but thought Bryan would think I was joking.

I've started to use F***book as though it were a blog, it kind of works in a cranky way.

As for the texting there's no intended impersonation of Jim Frae Erskine, so (though I have my own reasons for doing so) - I will apologise in advance - it's certainly not to wind up this blog.

Stockholm Syndrome - attached to and defending my captors... well..not really, I just happen to like them, but it's deeper than that...

  6. Leave Henri alone.

It showed how much they know when they talked about the Simon and Garfunkel songwriting partnership.

    4. I had a quick look at the Simon and Garfunkel CD's and could spot one writing credit and one arrangement credit. He had the sense to not even write his solo material....
