TEETH!

Yes Steve Earle has a great new set of teeth, top and bottom. Very white, straight and shiny. The envy of Springsteens hair weave.

Anyway Steve Earle was outstanding at the free gig at Pacific Quay. So £600M well spent as far as I am concerned.

    1. In fairness the £600M was not spent on Steves teeth - but perhpas he was inspired by the transformation of Glasgow into a vibrant and welcoming city...

    3. Visiting Pacific Quay on Saturday reminded me of the Garden Festival. I hope there's more "legacy" from these Games and not just the Chris Hoy Bingodrome as an evicted Eastender predicted.

  11. I'd like to say that my wee visit to the Weege on Friday was great. Of course we met-up with SG at lunchtime so, how could it not be? Anyway...the shuttle buses to and from Hampden were run superbly...got a train home nae bother. Thoroughly enjoyed the day...Glasgow was looking vibrant, West Linton boy O'Hare got into the 1500m final (though didn't do so well the next day undortunately), Lynsey Sharp's silver medal place was fantastic, the crowd getting to its feet the moment Bolt caught hold of the baton...altogether a superb day out. I always like my trips to Glasgow (even if it's a trip to Kentigern House) but this was by far the best. Jx

  13. You certainly picked a great night at the Games, Julie. I didn't get any of the tickets I applied for, but went to rugby7s and badminton. Didn't matter, just being in the city was fantastic - went up 3 days just to wander around enjoying the atmosphere. Glasgow was magnificent. I'm not a Glaswegian, but it's been my nearest city all my life and I worked there for - oh a lot of years. If you didn't catch the Secret History of our Streets on BBC on Friday then it's well worth a look.

So it's back to normal now. At least I won't feel that every minute spent at home I'm missing something up the road.

    1. re Secret History...I saw the Edinburgh one...bloody typical...and when I saw someone called Alstead I thought "bet that's Brigadier Alstead's wife"...and sure enough... Coincidentally though, I'd taken myself off for one of my rambles round town recently and walked down that very street and wondered about the magnificent Georgian façade to what I thought must have been made into flat. Now I know the history behind it. BTW...I once went to a dinner party hosted by a TA Brigadier and I was sat next to Colonel Allan Lapsley, who said that his home had been designed by 'Greek' Thomson. Being a Thomson myself, I commented that he'd designed some Wally Closes...which he poo pooed. was I right? Please say I am...I never liked Lapsley! Jx

  20. Thursday's show.
A few years ago when they did DIY I convinced BB that back in the 70s a famous DIY outlet hired sixties songsters to re-record hits in a DIY setting.
So they had Freddie Garrity in a bedroom beside a wardrobe singing “You Were Made By Me” and Lulu in a bathroom with a trowel belting out “Well you know you make me wanna grout!”
Are there any others songs from the sixties that could be B&Q'd?
