  1. Had to be "Billy Don't Be A Hero", I hated that song! Are you impressed that I actually noticed the list of songs though?

    1. Nothing wrong with Paper Lace, Billy. Though I can imagine you might have suffered a bit whenever you were a little greedy with the ball.

Not a bad selection on this album though. I must admit I had to look up "School Love" (Barry Blue in case you're wondering). Even listening to it now I can't remember it.
      Worrying.

    4. Of course I'm sure you don't need reminding that these Pickwick T.O.T.P. LP's featured session artists & weren't genuine compilation albums I.E. purchased by our older relatives for house parties etc. & wished to appear up to the minute with the then younger generation LOL

Correct! Favourite T.V. moments, or some such.

I asked for Billy Ray Cyrus dancin'?!? like an eejit on Top of the Pops whilst beltin' oot Achy Breaky Heart with his feet shod in the stupidest pair of trainers I have ever seen. Damn near destroyed his career. Thank goodness for Miley.

    2. I think Norrie's misled us.

Sixty years ago today, the first UK singles chart was published so we want you to share your chart memories tonight. The song you recorded off the radio, the artist whose chart ascent you followed religiously, and the song that seemed to stay at number 1 for ever! Let's compile the ultimate chart playlist tonight!

    3. I put Blur & FH down along with a few other suggestions but Bryan opted for the Trashcan Sinatras, as I thought would. Still it's a great track, so worth it.

I sent an email instead of F***book in case Mad Mac gave me a hard time for 'bribing' my way onto the playlist twice in one week, but they read out my donation anyway.....still, good cause and all that.

      regardez - youse

    4. Billy, way back when 'enri first joined the GIO Blog he accused me of & I quote 'having Bryan's ear' with regard to a Bluegrass shout that I so happened to have suggested and duly made the playlist.
As if that wasn't bad enough 'enri dissed not only the shout but the genre, which being a free world he is perfectly at liberty to do. However, I have never visited Pacific Quay, provided CD's, cake or money via my nom de plume in order to achieve a play and certainly never dissed a fellow blogger!

So I reckon all's fair in love & war ;-0

    5. Ah well, I was so much older then, MadMac, I'm younger than that now - so apologies.

I don't remember doing that, but,I shouldn't have - I think I was proabaly refering to Bryan's prediliction for Country ( I accept 'bluegrass' isn't 'Country') music and expressed myself clumsily, perhaps, but I don't know. The thing started with a kind of challenge to myself of 'what would I need to do to get Transglobal Underground played on Get It On' and it took off from there and became a kind of facination for me.

In the course of so doing, it happened that I did meet some of the folks who work on the show and you realise that they're doing their best in a really busy challenging live environment - I found them to be a nice bunch of people who put themselves out to be exceptionally helpful.

      Again, apologies to you.

      regardez vous

    1. In days of old
      when radio was bold
      and playlists weren't invented
      DJs dared to be risky
      some tunes were quite frisky
and listeners were more than contented
